Though she is a beautiful singer, gifted songwriter, dedicated actress and soulful poet, this list of talents merely scratches the surface of Jill Scott’s appeal. If I sound biased, it’s because I absolutely am. I deemed Jill my favourite singer a long time ago and you’ll often find me listening to her sultry, playful albums on repeat. Her charm, however, stems beyond these qualities, as she continually uses her voice to address issues that are bigger than her.

Undaunted, she calls out everyone from her exes to George Bush, where “truth” is always the underlying theme in her work. Over the course of her career, Jill’s has earned three Grammys for her talent, using her devastating divorce to fuel her most recent album.
