News junkies like myself can agree that this self proclaimed dyke changed the face of news in America. Period. Her sexuality plays a back seat to her intelligence and in the conservative boys club that is nightly news, that IS truly impressive. Rachel kicks serious ass!!

Don't play with her. Our girl earned a PhD from Oxford University and was a Rhodes Scholar by 21 (only 32 people in the US have earned this degree!). Hmmm what was I doing at 21? No seriously, it's a blurr, what was I doing?

Rachel Maddow makes sense of the complex and sometimes dull political process for millions. Watching her play "point-counter-point" with the old fogies in U.S politics is thrilling, even if you're totally new on the issue! Tactful and not one to back down, she will call B.S if she can smell it while remaining to the point, well researched, funny and consistently proving that she's damn good at what she does.

Like so many women I admire, she balances a super successful career in TV and radio with a happy, healthy loving relationship (11 years strong!)

Out and proud, brilliant and oh so talented, Rachel Maddow is a Girl Who Gets It.
