When you think of Compton, what comes to mind? N.WA, drive-by shooting and Bloods & Cripps. How about tennis, and home to the record smashing, Grand Slam crushing Venus and Serena Williams?

Do you remember the first time you saw them? Thousands of multi-colored beads flying all over the court, bulging black muscles and the outfits! Scaaandelous! An refreshing change to an old man's sport, these sisters made tennis cool again. Oh, and don't let them play against each other, you'll have an ulcer by games end. Strong has never been so sexy! Venus is 6'1 and Serena is a pile of muscles; her legs? Anyone? Their confidence encourages women of all shapes to work what they've got! Serena was just named the best body in sports! Get it girl!

Venus and Serena have exemplified hard work and dedication to their family. With mom and dad as manager and coach, it's hard not to. The Williams sisters make it look so easy, but when injury plagued Serena and their sister Yetunde was tragically murdered, critics wrote the girls off. Um, did someone not hear they are from Compton!?! These two are warriors!!

Fashion lines, dating h-h-h-ot rappers, owning the Miami Dolphins, opening a girls schools in South Africa all while keeping their heads on straight and making history with every match they win, I look forward to watching these two rule the courts for a very long time. As young women, we are so fortunate to be living in time where we can witness these two phenomenal women thrive. My grandaughters will know their names.
