Q&A- FAMILY FIRST?

I am the official dumping ground for my families drama. In my culture, its expected for the women to take care of everything, especially the men. I love my family, don't get me wrong, but that pressure leaves me at the bottom of the list after my parents, 3 brothers, little cousins, my friends soap operas. I can't get away long enough to keep my OWN man!

My brothers are really screwing up. 2 are in jail and the other does nothing, not even school. Everyone assumes I'll take care of things, but I'm tapped. They take me for granted. I want more for myself but I keep getting sucked into craziness. My friend said I should take a break and stay with her for awhile (4 hr flight away) until things die down. I can use the break, but am I abandoning my family?

When do I put my foot down and take care of myself before my family?
