10 years ago, a twenty-something Lisa Ling joined The View and all assumed she'd be the new girl swapping hot topics and mom makeovers with a new daytime audience. After only two years Lisa traded her cushy TV gig for a life of international reporting.

Since then, Lisa Ling has done the important work of opening our eyes to issues effecting women world wide. Lisa gets right to the point and asks uncomfortable questions with a sincere curiosity that is never offensive. National Geographic, CNN and the Oprah Show have chosen her to lift the vail on intense issues that effect so many across the globe.

In the spring of 2010 Lisa became the stories subject rather the teller. Her sister Laura, an editor, was detained for 5 months in dangerous country of North Korea and faced a 12 year prison sentence. I can't even fathom that experience, the surreal feeling of a sister in perril, the need to help her coupled with your colleagues and competitors reporting on YOU for the first time. Laura was safely released, and the two the sisters have written a book on their larger then life ordeal and a strengthened bond as sisters.
