Sex and the City crew know Cynthia Nixon as "Miranda"- the "no bullshit" BFF. In one episode, Carrie was beating herself up over not being enough for a man when Miranda checked her by saying "Hey! Knock it off, that's my best friend you're talking about!" GO MIRANDA!

Cynthia's characters often stay true to her assertive and intelligent nature. SATC was the first introduction for many of us, but she has starred in TV and broadway roles since the 70's winning Tony's, Emmy's and a Grammy! (in college, she starred in two hit plays at once, running back and forth between theaters. Talk about hustle!)

Circumstances in Cynthia's personal life have shown the bravery of this fantastic lady and caused her to become an activist.
