I had the chance to interview Estelle during the peak of her smashsmash single "American Boy" and I instantly adored her. Chatting on the couch in the lobby of a swanky hotel, it was a gossip fest with a girlfriend rather then "work". Instantly likeable and down to earth, Estelle shared stories of man drama and remained unfased by the fame of her label mates (Kanye, John Legend) or the pressures of working with men in the hip-hop game (sidenote: girl is a TUFF rapper!).

The bright young woman I met that day exudes that same light almost three years later. Her music is fantastic, her style is edgy without being 'slack' or overpowering, she can laugh at herself and her music bangs!!
